Our Activity Rooms

Nine themed rooms to meet a wide range of needs

Alongside our activity rooms we also access the community regularly visiting local attractions of our young people’s choice.

At Thrive we wanted to create and develop a concept where an environment can suit all young people with a wide range of needs, disabilities and interests. We want to be the start of new pioneering services, that move away from your traditional day care provisions where young people are supported and take part in activities in one large open space together. At Thrive we understand that these traditional setups do not suit everyone due to the environmental factors of being in a large group which can be overwhelming and overstimulating for a lot of people. Our premises provide an environment that can be enjoyed by so many, causing the least amount of disruption to each other due to the number of activity rooms we have available.

Cooking & Baking

A cooking and baking room to learn life skills, food hygiene and food safety practices.

Arts & Crafts

An arts and crafts room to get creative and messy with paints, clay and textiles.

Music

A music room to play instruments including a guitars, bongo drums and smaller instruments. We also have a karaoke machine to have a sing along.

Activities

An activity room with a pool table and board games.

Sensory

A forest themed sensory room to take time out to relax to calming sounds, play with
sensory toys or to enjoy a foot spa or massage.

Gaming

A gaming room to play on the XBOX and PlayStation with your peers.

Quiet Room

A quiet room with a profiling bed and hoist to meet personal care needs of wheelchair users, and to have time out from their wheelchairs watching sensory
lights and listening to music.

Lounge & Chill

A comfortable lounge with TV to watch programmes and movies.

Dining

A dining room where young people can sit together and eat their packed lunches.

AQA Unit Award Scheme

At Thrive we provide the AQA unit Award scheme to everyone who attends at no additional cost. The scheme allows young people to continue their learning journeys after leaving school or college.

The units promote independence and are a great way to recognise achievements, boost confidence, increase engagement and improve motivation.

The units cover all topics and subjects such as life skills and independent living, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and work-related learning.

A certificate is awarded to the young person each time they complete a unit, and they can compile a portfolio to evidence their knowledge and use for future employment to demonstrate their skills.
